Often called Investigators, Fives are motivated by a need to gain knowledge, conserve energy, and avoid relying on others. Analytical, detached, and private, they collect knowledge and hoard information in order to be as independent and self-sustaining as possible. This withholding and self-sufficient attitude can often unwittingly lead to holding back love and affection from others. They relate to the world through the mind and reside in the Head Triad.
At their best, Fives are self-sufficient and great listeners, capable of true neutrality and measured, logical thought. At their worst, Fives are bad at opening up with others and find it hard to get on board with things that do not interest them, which can make relationships feel one-sided to others.
